Zuragilis by SYRSA Zuragilis by SYRSA
Here you see the great sunship of Terrahypt. It's now dimming it's star at about the same luminosity
as a full moon to mimic the day/night cycle of their former planet.

Some recent losers have insisted on reminding me that this ship is a rip-off from the tempest from Starcraft 2.
Take a look at the date when I uploaded this picture: [link]
And then look at the date when the HOTS expansion came out. Now, shut up.

It slightly reminds me about Ora's (artificial planet/planet-sized superstation) controllable artificial sun from Sergey Snegov's "Humans As Gods". I think that your pictures of machinery can be excellent illustrations for this trilogy.

I remember seeing that in your game, Terrahypt. I had no idea what it was but I wanted to get to it so bad.

Wow, it uses a star for energy? Reminds me of a sci-fi concept called a "Dyson Star" but used instead as the fuel for this vessel.

Does the ship facilitate the same reactions as a star, or is it just a big ball of another type of energy?

I can wonder if the ship uses the power from the sun to both make light and power the ship. Like using the suns growth for a huge boost in power so it never collapses on its own weight . Imagine if that power was used to power a UV super weapon. OR EVEN MORE!

I read a series once where the whole basis for economy was around man made suns and those who could afford them charged the floating colonies that surrounded them money and resources for its use or they were removed from the group and left to freeze. In an attempt to fight back some made "pirate" suns that could supply enough energy for a small colony to survive in the cold blackness that they called space. Seeing this ship reminds me of this concept, although I confess little knowledge of the mechanics of man made cold fusion I can only assume that it would operate through a system that involved a material core that could be maintained and controlled via the ship itself. Don't mean to step on your story, I just like to speculate

Just seeing that massive halo encircling a massive, controllable ball of energy gives me the feeling of Impression. I can imagine standing on the exact location as the image is created by the blinking of your eyes, widely opened.

As said; Impressive piece of technology, and a great drawing of it.

Something I found that I thought would help some people understand the idea of how immense stars can truely be.

Remember that stars, even small ones, have unbelievable power.
A star's gravity extends far beyond their region of space, they give off large amounts of energy and radiation, and expand into a red giant when there isn't enough energy to sustain itself.

Depending on the star's type, it's size, and the machine's functions, if Zuragilis cannot support the star over a long period of time, then Terrahypt has a doomsday weapon flying right above it.
An example: An asteroid crashes into Zuragilis and the star begins expanding beyond it's capabilities.
The star quickly engulfs the sunship and begins scorching the ground below as sand turns to glass and plants combust into flames.
Terrahypt is ripped apart as the star consumes it and grows into a red giant.

If you want a more understandable example: [link]

So does that mean you know what you're doing when it comes to Science Fiction?
I'm not being mean, it's just that I'm used to defining every possible explanation.
Because you're an artist, and I'm a storywriter.
The similarity is that we both like to express our imaginations.
The difference is that you express it in any way you want it to be, while I like to have a certain style.
We're both great at what we do, but I don't know if that sparks a friendship :) or a rivalry. :(

I'm not just an artist, and I don't just simply express my work in any way I want it to be.

I'm highly interested in science such as biology, astronomy, geology and etc.
So without knowing what I'm doing to the lore of my story-verse, I wouldn't be
entertained by my own work if it were full with a bunch of unbiased fantasies.

Well, to each his own.

And define to me "unbiased fantasies" when most of your work consists of extremely attractive women. :devilish:

What, is having a taste for attractive women unbiased?

That's just nature displaying one of it's many phases in reproduction.
Just because the Thilian specie look like "extremely attractive women" to us humans,
doesn't have to mean that they're less likely to be able to reproduce by themselves.

You seem to take things a little too seriously sometimes.
First of all, how does reproduction relate to anything I said :?
Second, unbiased has the same meaning as being neutral.
Where someone is neither for or against something, simply doing whatever they want carefree and without restraint.

Like you said, you just want to express your talent without having to deal with what people think about it.
You're always going to have problems with the way the world sees your talents, that's just how it is and nothing can change it.
The best decisions are to simply just ignore it or improve from it.
But regardless of whatever you do, it's not my place to question, I'm just simply expressing my opinion.
Whether or not that upsets you is entirely your decision, not mine.

How I normally conversate does usually appear like I take things
too seriously to some people.

And I thought unbiased was prejudice, except for scientific facts. So I kind of
looked at your section about my attractive ladies like if they didn't mix with the
rest of my science/technology pictures.

I imagine a ship like this requires a LOT of energy, especially since it is controlling a star. So how do they power this ship?
